Boarding time is the scheduled time when passengers are expected to be ready at the boarding gate for the boarding process.
The boarding time is usually mentioned on the boarding pass. For example, in the reference boarding pass below, the boarding time is shown as 0615 Hrs (6:15 AM).
Why Is Boarding Time Important for Travellers?
Boarding time is important because passengers need to reach their boarding gate before or by the boarding time. If you arrive late, you may risk missing the flight.
The boarding pass may also contain instructions about the gate closing time. For example, the boarding pass shown below states that the gate is subject to change and will close 25 minutes before departure.
Therefore, check your boarding pass carefully for:
- Gate number
- Boarding time
- Flight number
- Departure time
Then make sure you reach the boarding gate with enough time before boarding.
AirportSaathi Tip: Boarding time and gate information can change. Always check the latest information on your boarding pass, airport information screens and with your airline.
Example
In the boarding pass below, the boarding time is 0615 Hrs (6:15 AM). The same boarding pass also gives an important instruction about the gate closing before departure.
