Your flight ticket and boarding pass may have a PNR printed on them, as shown in the image below.
PNR stands for Passenger Name Record. It is an alphanumeric booking reference associated with your flight reservation.
Why Is PNR Important for Travellers?
PNR is important because it helps the airline identify and retrieve your booking details.
Travellers may need their PNR when:
- Checking in online
- Viewing or managing a booking
- Checking flight or booking details
- Contacting the airline about a reservation
Example
As shown in the boarding pass below, the PNR is U4H65Y. This alphanumeric reference is associated with the flight booking and can be used to retrieve the booking details.
A PNR is associated with the booking, not necessarily with an individual passenger. For example, if you book tickets for three passengers together in a single reservation, all three passengers can have the same PNR.
AirportSaathi Tip: Keep your PNR handy when travelling, but avoid publicly sharing it because it is connected to your booking information.
